Suit alleges leaky sink damaged Harvey home

GRETNA – An insurance company claims a leaking sink caused damage to a home in Harvey.

Allstate Insurance Co. filed a suit Dec. 5 against Lixil USA Corpo., doing business as American Standard, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

The plaintiff claims the home of its insured owners had a sink manufactured by American Standard in their home. It began to leak Dec. 22, 2016, and damaged the plaintiff's home, the suit claims.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Eric J. Miller of Bolen, Parker, Brenner, Lee & Engelsman Ltd. in Alexandria.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
