Man claims palm tree fell onto his car in Lakeside Shopping Center parking lot

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, claiming his car was damaged by a palm tree that fell from a truck.

Ricardo Cedillo filed a suit Dec. 1 against Greater Lakeside Corp., doing business as Lakeside Shopping Center; Mullin Lanscape Associates LLC; and Dillard Department Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

The suit states that on Dec. 2, 2106, the plaintiff parked his car in a parking lot at Lakeside Shopping Center near Dillard's where a palm tree fell from a truck and landed on his car, injuring him and damaging his vehicle.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Laura Kambur of The Kambur Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
