Man's car allegedly damaged in chain reaction crash

GRETNA – A man claims that an employee of a dog rescue organization featured on the show Pitbulls and Parolees caused a chain reaction collision that resulted in his car being damaged.

Stephen Rodriguez filed a suit on Dec. 7 against Progressive Paloverde Insurance Company, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Villalobos Dog Rescue, Pets in the Hood Inc., Blue 44 Productions and USAA Casualty Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 9, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was stopped at an intersection when an employee of Villalobos Dog Rescue collided with another vehicle setting off a chain reaction of collisions that resulted in the plaintiff's car being hit.  At the time of the accident, the dog rescue employee was driving a vehicle rented by the organization.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott T. Dupaquier in Prairieville.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
