Man allegedly injured when poles fell on him in Baton Rouge Walmart

GRETNA — A Jefferson Parish man was injured when two poles allegedly fell on him in a Baton Rouge Walmart store.

James Dameron filed a suit on Dec. 1 against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Wal-Mart Associates Inc., Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC, ABC Employees and DEF Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 10 when two poles allegedly fell from a bike rack in the store and struck the plaintiff.

The defendants are accused of negligence and failure to maintain the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by James E. Shields Sr. of Gretna. 

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
