Woman alleges prepared pig's feet caused food poisoning

GRETNA — A woman who had to be hospitalized after eating prepared pig's feet is seeking damages for food poisoning.

Diane Garrison filed a suit on May 4 against Express Seafood Inc.; Thien A LLC; Ba Van Phan, d/b/a Express Seafood; Dai Tony Nguyen, d/b/a Express Seafood and Thien An; , Kieuvan Thi Nguyen, d/b/a Express Seafood and Thien An; and Seneca Insurance Company Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 25, 2016. The plaintiff consumed pig's feet manufactured and prepared by Express Seafood. Upon consuming the items, the plaintiff became violently ill and had to be hospitalized to treat her illness.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the food was safe for consumption and failing to warn of possible danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Thomas E. Campbell in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
