Man allegedly died due to improper medical care

GRETNA –A woman claims that her husband died due to poor medical care.

Shirley Autra, individually and on behalf of The Estate of Marshall Autra, filed a suit on Dec. 7 against Ochsner Clinic Foundation, d/b/a Ochsner Health Foundation LLC - Northshore, and Jason B. Hill M.D. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the claim, Marshall Autra was admitted to Ochsner Medical Center with abdominal pain and had a colon resection in July 21, 2013. The plaintiff was later released and due to alleged improper care from the defendants was caused to die.

The defendant is accused of negligence and wrongful death.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert B. Evans of The Evans Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
