Roofer accused of doing defective job

GRETNA – A property owner is seeking damages for an alleged defective roof installation.

Bolton Holdings LLC filed a suit on Dec. 13 against R. Guidry's Roofing & Siding LLC, Guidry's Roofing & Siding Co., and Randy T. Guidry in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at 4500 Clearview Parkway. The suit states that the defendant was contracted to repair the roof at the address and was paid to do so; however, the defendant allegedly failed to do the work as the contract had stated. The defendant's work allegedly resulted in leaks from the roof, which was supposed to be functional for at least five years.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and negligence through failing to repair the roof as promised.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Harold J. Flanagan of Flanagan Partners LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Metnz.
