Homeowner says he was misled by solar panel company

GRETNA – An individual claims in a lawsuit that he was misled by a solar panel company.

Ngoc Van Tang filed a suit Dec. 19 against John-Hoa Nguyen, People's Realty Inc., A-1 Solar Source Inc., and Laura Tyson in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract and fraud.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place in 2016, when the plaintiff and defendant entered into an agreement for the installation of 18 solar panels on the plaintiff's home in Jefferson Parish. The suit states the defendant made claims as to how much the plaintiff would save on an electrical bill with the new solar panels, but these claims were false and the plaintiff was misled.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and fraud.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joel A. Levy in Marrero.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
