Minor child allegedly injured in school scuffle

GRETNA – A parent claims her minor child was injured in an encounter at Jeff High School.

Hane Farah, parent of a minor child, filed a suit Dec. 29 against Jefferson Parish Public School System, on behalf of Jeff High School and John Plauche, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Dec. 19, 2016. The suit states the plaintiff's minor child was walking from one class to another when the defendant pushed the child to the ground and tried to take the child's cell phone. The plaintiff's minor child was injured in the encounter. 

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach of the proper standard of care.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Leonard Fisher III in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 778852.
