Man seeks damages for alleged injury from acupuncture

GRETNA – A man claims he was injured while receiving acupuncture.

Kevin J. Fassbender filed a suit Dec. 29 against Hatem Hamed M.D. and Advanced Medical Management LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a patient of the defendant on Sept. 26, 2016 when he was receiving acupuncture treatment for chronic pain. The suit states the defendant placed metal stints in each of the plaintiff's ears and that the negligence of the defendant in the procedure caused great pain to the plaintiff, which caused him to have to go to the East Jefferson General Hospital ER on Oct. 10, 2016.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach in the standard of care.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Anthony L. Glorioso in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 779070.
