New Orleans woman seeks damages after fall through apartment balcony

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she fell through her apartment balcony.

Suzanne Charles filed a lawsuit Dec. 18 against Westbank Holdings LLC, Metro-Wide Apartments LLC, Downtown Development Group LLC and Joshua Bruno in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 1, 2017. The suit states the plaintiff was at the property on 2101 Cobblestone Lane, Unit M, New Orleans when she was caused to fall through the wooden balcony that was part of her apartment.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the apartment or warn of danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney J. Benjamin Avin of Irpino, Avin & Hawkins Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2017-12075.
