Man seeks damages for slip and fall in food mart

GRETNA – A man claims that he was caused to slip and fall in a Westwego food mart.

Alandus Scott filed a suit Jan. 4 against Brothers Petroleum LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence. 

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place on Aug. 28, 2017. The suit states the plaintiff was in the Brothers Food Mart when he was caused to slip and fall on some water that had been left on the ground. 

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph S. Piacun of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 779186.
