Bonefish Grill owner sued over alleged assault

GRETNA — A woman claims that she was physically assaulted when she went to the bathroom at work.

The unnamed woman filed a suit on Jan. 8 against Bloomin' Brands Inc., dba Bonefish Grill LLC, and Joshua Peters in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 25, 2017 when the plaintiff was working in her scope of employment for the defendant. The plaintiff was allegedly sexually assaulted and physically harmed by Peters when she went into the bathroom.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to properly care for its employees.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jason F. Giles of The Giles Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
