Woman claims she was cut by falling frame at Home Goods

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for an incident she said took place at a Home Goods.

Debra Schweter filed a suit Jan. 11 against The TJX Cos. Inc., dba Home Goods, and Zurich American Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 18, 2017. The plaintiff was at the Home Goods at 6601 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie when a large frame fell on the plaintiff and cut her due to the glass breaking on her.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Albert J. Nicaud of Nicaud & Sunseri Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 779496.
