Couple claims hotel failed to properly protect its guests

NEW ORLEANS – A couple is seeking damages for an incident that took place at a Hampton Inn in New Orleans.

Patricia S. and Ernest L. White filed a lawsuit June 12 against Bre NOLA Property Owner LLC, dbd Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Downtown J.A.B.-New Orleans Inc,, dba Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Downtown Emporia LLC, dba Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Downtown, Hampton Inn and Suites New Orleans Downtown, and Zurich American Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are seeking damages for an incident that took place on June 14, 2016 when the plaintiff, Patricia, was at the defendant's property. The suit states the plaintiff was caused personal injury when she was caused to fall off of a raised platform outside the hotel, due to the fact that there were not safety precautions in place.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John M. Robin in Covington.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. 2017-5676.
