Pelicans sue Crosby Tugs for suite licensing fee

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking damages after a company failed to pay its licensing fees for a suite at the Smoothie King Center. 

New Orleans Pelicans NBA LLC filed a lawsuit  on Dec. 29 against Crosby Tugs LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that the defendant is required to pay a license fee for each year in four installments. The defendant allegedly has failed to pay three of the four installments for the 2014-15 contract, resulting in breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by James M. Garner of Sher, Garner, Cahill, Richter, Klein & Hilbert LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
