Man claims mental challenges led to wrongful eviction

NEW ORLEANS – A man with mental challenges claims he was wrongfully evicted from his apartment.

Tyrone Bickham filed a lawsuit Dec. 20 against Carondelet Residential Associates LP, dba 200 Carondelet and 200 Carondelet Apartments, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging wrongful eviction.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming that he was evicted from his apartment after being wrongfully accused of using and selling drugs on his property, as well as other actions. In fact, the plaintiff suffers from mental disorders that have made life difficult for him and the violations of due process through the accusation process caused further stress to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of wrongful accusation and eviction.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Hannah Adams of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2017-12192.
