Construction company claims it's owed more than $125,000

NEW ORLEANS – A construction company is seeking damages for an alleged breach of contract.

Schexnaildre Interiors LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 19 against Malin Construction Co. Inc.; U.S. Specialty Insurance Co.; and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming it entered into a contract with the defendant. The plaintiff provided work to the property at 1111 Tulane Ave. in New Orleans through the renovation of an existing building into apartments. The plaintiff completed the duties as outlined and should have been paid $1.281 million, but states the defendant has failed to pay them $126,474.74.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Louis P. Bonnaffons of Leake & Anderson LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2017-12151.
