An insurance company is seeking damages claiming that a security company should pay damages suffered by a client

NEW ORLEANS – An insurance company is seeking damages, claiming that a security company should pay for injuries suffered by a client.

Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance PLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 15 against Access World (USA) LLC; Central Monitoring Inc., dba Alarm Protection Services; Market Street Commerce Center LLC and Port Cargo Service LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of bailment and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming that they entered into a storage risk policy for the limit of $50 million. The suit states the party that purchased the policy had items stolen from their warehouse at 410 Josephine St. in New Orleans on Dec. 17, 2017. The plaintiff has paid their client a sum of $159,137.70, and claim that the defendant was truly responsible for the damages as they provided monitoring and security services at the address listed.

The defendant is accused of breach of bailment and negligence. 

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Salvador J. Pusateri of Pusateri, Johnston, Guillot & Greenbaum in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2017-12029.
