Lawsuit claims insurance company refused to cover tornado damage

NEW ORLEANS – An LLC is seeking damages, claiming it was not reimbursed for damages caused by a tornado.

Gentilly-Poche and Nitram LLC filed a lawsuit Dec. 11 against Indian Harbor Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 7, 2017. The suit states the defendant failed to reimburse the plaintiff after a tornado struck and damaged the plaintiff's property.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Raymond B. Landry of Mollere, Flanagan & Landry LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2017-11840.
