GRETNA – A woman and her passenger claim a City of Gretna employee was to blame for a car crash.
Saudi Veal and Leonard Hargrove filed a suit on Jan. 22 against Castar Evans, City of Gretna and the Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.
According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 20, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was driving her vehicle on Leboeuf Street in Jefferson Parish with Hargrove as a passenger when the defendant in his scope of employment for the City of Gretna backed into the plaintiff's vehicle.
The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to keep a lookout.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Everette E. Ungar of Walter, Wiygul & Garside LLC in Gretna.
The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
