Mino Marine accused of defamation, breach of contract

GRETNA –A man is seeking damages, claiming that a company breached a contract before they defamed him.

Alexander Ellsworth filed a suit on Jan. 23 against Mino Marine LLC, David Muller and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence, defamation and breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff retained the defendant to complete work on a yacht on April 18, 2016. The suit states that the defendants have failed to complete the work as agreed upon and they accused the plaintiff of not paying his bills in a timely fashion, defaming him.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach of contract as well as defamation.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by J. Geoffrey Ormsby of Smith & Fawer LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
