Man claims video poker machine fell on him at Fairgrounds Race Course and Slots

GRETNA –A man claims that he was injured while gambling in New Orleans.

Nolan McIntyre filed a suit on Feb.  6 against Churchill Downs Inc, Churchill Downs Louisiana Horseracing Company LLC, dba Fairgrounds Race Course and Slots Gretna OTB, Churchill Downs Louisiana Video Poker Company LLC, National Casualty Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 6, 2017 when the plaintiff claims a video poker machine fell on him as he gambled at Fairgrounds Race Course and Slots. 

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to provide a safe venue for the plaintiff and failing to warn of danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Nain Martinez Jr. in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
