Patron alleges Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen Inc. failed to warn of water on floor that caused fall

GRETNA – A Plaquemines Parish man is seeking damages after a fall in a Gretna restaurant.

John Hollier filed a suit Feb. 12 against Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen Inc., formerly known as AFC Enterprises Inc., in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence. 

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at defendant's 2148 Belle Chasse Highway, Gretna location on Feb. 14, 2017, and slipped on water on the floor in the men's restroom. He alleges he sustained serious bodily injury as a result.

The defendant is alleged to have permitted water on the premises and failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Deborah Weisler Fallis of Barbee and Associates LLC in Belle Chasse.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
