University claims it is owed more than $1,100

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking more than $1,100.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit Jan. 3 against Toinette Janeth Peters in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for the balance of $1,192.25 plus interest, claiming that the defendant was negligent in paying the balance due.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Kaila Hutchison of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney Cates IV.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-183.
