Man is seeking damages after suffering burns in automobile fire

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, claiming that a car malfunctioned, burning his face.

Jonathan Zavola filed a suit March 12 against Jap Auto Sales LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 18, 2017 when the plaintiff was driving a car that was loaned to the plaintiff when the car started to smoke. The plaintiff looked under the hood when the radiator or another component of the car malfunctioned, blowing flames in the plaintiff's face.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Anthony Impastato of Fricshhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
