Café allegedly failed to warn of change in floor height, causing fall

NEW ORLEANS – A company allegedly failed to state the change in floor height, causing damages to the plaintiff.

Jamie Honore and Terrence Honore Jr. filed a lawsuit March 8 against Vic's Kangaroo Café LLC, 636 Tchoupitoulas LLC, and General Star Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming that on March 18, 2017, the plaintiff was caused injury when a step up portion of the cafe was not clearly exhibited, which was a violation of code.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Eric Ferrioullet in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarrusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-2327.
