Plaintiff says she sustained injury in work-related assault

GRETNA – A woman claims she was assaulted and then terminated at work.

Vicki Stroup filed a suit March 19 against Progressive Services Inc., dba Progressive Roofing, and Michael Karl Legler in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence, unlawful termination and assault.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 1, 2017 when the plaintiff was working at the defendant's property. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when the defendant began to verbally assault the plaintiff and then grabbed her arm. The plaintiff's arm was twisted in the altercation and the plaintiff was then terminated from her employment after the defendant let go of her arm.

The defendant is accused of negligence, unlawful termination and assault.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Casey Moll in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.
