Woman claims she was injured in a Ross store

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she was injured in a Ross store.

Janice Clark filed a lawsuit April 3 against Ross Dress for Less Inc. and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 17, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the Ross on 3026 Holiday Drive. The plaintiff says she was injured when the chair she was sitting on suddenly broke, causing her to hit the floor.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Shelley Hammond Provosty of Hammond Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-3235.
