Woman claims she tripped over obstacle at Hilton New Orleans Riverside

NEW ORLEANS — A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly tripped over an obstacle.

Shirley Jones and her husband, Ernest Jones, filed a lawsuit on April 12 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Audio Visual Services Group LLC a/k/a AVSC Holding Corp a/k/a PSAV, Ace American Insurance Company, Hilton Riverside LLC and XYZ Insurance Company, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on April 21, 2017 when Shirley Jones was a guest speaker at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. The plaintiffs claim that she tripped over the leg of a screen that allegedly was set up in the room, which allegedly resulted in injuries.

The plaintiffs seek all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Michael J. Begoun of Wolfe, Begoun & Pick LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.
