NRP Claiborne Homes LLC allegedly failed to prevent woman from falling down steps of her home

GRETNA — A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly fell at her home.

Lazander Vancourt filed a suit on April 20 in the 24th Judicial District Court against NRP Claiborne Homes LLC, United Insurance Company of America and NDC Real Estate Management Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff allegedly was caused to fall down the stairs of the home that she had leased from NRP Claiborne Homes LLC.

The defendant is accused of negligence for allegedly failing to maintain their property in a safe condition and warn the plaintiff of the allegedly dangerous condition of the steps.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Nancy S. Silbert of Wolfe, Begoun & Pick LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 783007.
