Man claims unsafe condition led to injury at work

GRETNA – A man claims that he was injured when he drove into a 2-foot-deep hole at work.

Fred Tuckerson filed a suit April 24 against Amtrust Insurance Co. and Avondale Container Yard LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on June 6. 2017 when the plaintiff was driving a big rig truck in the Avondale container yard west. The plaintiff drove over what he thought was a puddle of water, but it was actually a 2-foot-deep hole that caused the plaintiff's foot to hit the accelerator and caused physical damages to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the yard was safe for use and failing to warn of the dangers that were present.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Redmann of the Law Office of John W. Redmann LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.
