A man claims that he was injured at a Home Depot store when a container was dropped on him

GRETNA — A man is seeking damages, claiming that Home Depot employees dropped a large item on him.

Ryan Turlich filed a suit on May 1 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. and Chad Abadie, John Doe I and John Doe II, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on May 20 when he allegedly was at a Home Depot in Gretna. The suit claims that a container was pulled out of a high shelf and fell on him. The container allegedly was moved by the defendants, who failed to ensure that it was done in a safe way.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Andrew Cvitanovic of Cossich, Sumich, Parsiola & Taylor LLC in Belle Chasse.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
