State of Louisiana is seeking more than $150,000 from two individuals who allegedly misused grant money

GRETNA — The State of Louisiana is seeking more than $150,000 in sums due, claiming that two individuals misused a grant.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration's Office of Community Development filed a suit on May 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Miles Vamvoras and Denis Vamvoras Sr., alleging sums due and breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking $150,000 in damages, claiming that the defendants failed to demonstrate that they had used a home improvement grant for its intended purpose.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 783675.
