Avita Pharmacy accused of negligence after allegedly giving man wrong prescription

NEW ORLEANS — A man is seeking damages after he allegedly received the wrong prescription.

Michael Robinson filed a lawsuit on May 11 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Avita Drugs LLC d/b/a Avita Pharmacy, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Dec. 4 when the defendant allegedly gave him the wrong prescription. The plaintiff claims that the medication he received was 350 mg stronger than it should have been. The plaintiff claims that he subsequently experienced an allergic reaction.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Zachary R. Christiansen of the Bowling Law Firm APLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
