Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office employee allegedly caused car accident

GRETNA — Two individuals are seeking damages, claiming that a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office employee caused a car accident.

Denise and Virgil Howell filed a suit on May 21 against the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and Keith Chandler Reaves in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs are seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on August 23 when they allegedly were involved in a car accident that was caused by Reaves, who allegedly was an employee of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office at the time of the incident.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiffs are represented by Cory B. Blunk of the Law Office of Cory B. Blunk in Amite.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 783993.
