GRETNA — A man claims that a doctor failed to provide him with proper medical care.
Gary Dean Morgan filed a suit on May 23 against Dr. Barton L. Wax in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence and medical malpractice.
According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Aug. 22, 2015 when he sustained a fracture and sought treatment at the defendant's office. The suit claims that the plaintiff complained of pain after a medical procedure, but the defendant allegedly failed to "follow up." As a result, the plaintiff sought care with another healthcare provider and allegedly discovered that he needed to undergo additional surgical procedures.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Vincent E. Odom of Capitelli & Wicker in New Orleans.
