Louisiana State University claims former student owes more than $2,500

NEW ORLEANS – Southeastern Louisiana University filed a lawsuit June 11, alleging that a former student owes more than $2,500 to the school.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through Southeastern Louisiana University, filed a lawsuit against Michael David Frenette in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account with a balance of $2,702.38 plus interest. The university claims the defendant owes $1,691.08 for tuition and fees and $1,011.30 for books.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
