KGR Trucking employee says company insurance did not cover accident

GRETNA – A man claims that he lost his driver's license and owes $3,793.04 in damages arising from a vehicle accident because his employer, KGR Trucking Co. LLC, did not properly insure the box truck he was driving when the accident occurred .

Christopher Barrett filed a lawsuit June 28 against KGR Trucking in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Barrett hit a parked car on June 28, 2017 while driving a box truck owned by the defendant. The plaintiff alleges he is being denied coverage because he is not listed as an additional driver on the defendant's liability policy.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. He is represented by Charlsey Wolff of The Law Office of Wolff & Wolff in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
