Woman files lawsuit stemming from fall over a broken fence

NEW ORLEANS – A woman says she was injured when she tripped and fell over a broken fence.

Charlisa M. Butler filed a lawsuit March 23 against Patricia Ann Fortenberry, aka Patricia Ann Johnson, aka Patricia Ann Cameron; PJ Fortenberry Investments LLC; and XYZ Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 26, 2017 when the plaintiff was caused to fall when she tripped on a broken bar from a fence and was caused to fall onto the concrete below.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Joseph LaHatte of LaHatte Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-2866.
