Customer files lawsuit following fall in J-H-J grocery store

GRETNA – A man claims that he slipped and fell in a grocery store.

Timothy Slay filed a lawsuit July 26 against Argonaut Great Central Insurance Co. and J-H-J Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Slay is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on June 9, 2017 when he was in J-H-J's grocery store and slipped and fell on water that had been left on the ground.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. He is represented by Preston Hayes of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
