State of Louisiana claims man must repay $150,000 grant

GRETNA –The State of Louisiana is seeking $150,000 from a man who it claims failed to repay a grant.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration, Office of Community Development - Disaster Recovery Unit filed a lawsuit July 31 against Gary Joseph Cadow in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging misuse of and failure to repay a grant.

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to use a $150,00 state-funded grant under the applicable terms and failed to repay the funds as required.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. It is represented by Mary Catherine Calie of Shows, Cali & Walsh in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
