Louisiana files lawsuit in marijuana possession case

GRETNA – A man is being sued for possession of marijuana.

The State of Louisiana filed a suit Aug. 2 against John Dixon in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging possession of an illegal substance.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages after they allegedly found marijuana prepackaged for sale at the defendant's place of residence. The defendant is accused of possession of an illegal substance.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by David Wheeler in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 786261.
