AMC Theatres sued after woman allegedly falls outside cinema

GRETNA – A woman, claiming injuries after she allegedly tripped and fell on a concrete curb, is suing American Multi-Cinema and ABC Insurance Co.

Mary Mares filed the lawsuit on Aug. 9 against American Multi-Cinema Inc, also known as AMC Theatres, and ABC Insurance Co., in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Aug. 12, 2017, outside a movie theater at 1200 Elmwood Park Blvd, Elmwood, Louisiana. The plaintiff claims that she tripped on a concrete curb and injured her wrist when she allegedly fell down. 

The defendant is accused of negligence. The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Harold L. Ehrenberg in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 786460.
