Plaintiff says American Bankers Insurance failed to pay for flood damages

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages after his home was damages by a flood and he was not reimbursed by his insurance company.

Fausto Moran filed a lawsuit Aug. 3 against American Bankers Insurance Co. of Florida, Geico Insurance Agency, and Pilot Flood Management in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages stemming from when the plaintiff's home was flooded on Aug. 5, 2017. The suit states that he had an insurance policy and that the defendant has failed to pay the plaintiff for the damages suffered.

The defendant is accused of sums due and negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Robert Daigre of Burgos & Associates LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette Irons.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-7757.
