Credit union pursues $26,000 debt

GRETNA –– A credit union claims a local man stopped paying on a loan.

Oak Point Employees Credit Union filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Russell M. Carey. 

According to the complaint, Carey stopped making payments on a loan and the credit union now wants the total amount due. Carey owes more than $26,000 on the loan. 

The credit union seeks the loan money, plus interest and attorney fees. The plaintiff is represented by Joshua P. Matthews of Roy M. Bowes & Associates in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 786942.
