Laundromat fall prompts lawsuit

GRETNA –– A woman is suing after a slip and fall at a laundromat.

Johnny Mae Polk filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Munay Discount LLC and Nationwide Insurance Company.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff slipped and fell while washing her clothes, which required a surgical intervention of a knee replacement.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Benjamin Perkins of Gardner & Steib Attorneys at Law in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
