Slip and fall outside of a casino leads to litigation

GRETNA –– A casino in Harvey faces a lawsuit after a customer allegedly slipped on ice.

Jose A. Chaco and Aracely Chacon filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Louisiana I-Gaming, which operates the Boomtown Casino New Orleans. ABC Insurance Company is also named as a defendant.

According to the complaint, Jose slipped and fell on ice outside of the casino and injured his left knee. The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiffs seek all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Gloria T. Lastra in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
