Exploding pressure cooker leads to lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS –– A woman is seeking damages for injuries sustained from an exploding pressure cooker.

Lola Allen filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Tristar Products Inc., which manufactures the Tristar XL-6 pressure cooker. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was using the pressure cooker to prepare a meal and the machine exploded, causing first-degree burns. The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Marcus A. Green of the Green Law Firm in Marrero.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
