Woman seeks damages for an incident at Sam's Club

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for a incident at a Sam's Club.

Jabanda Hinton, individually and on behalf of Philicia Thornton, filed a complaint on Sept. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Stores Inc., dba Sam's Club of Harvey Store 8221.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Sept. 17, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the Sam's Club at 1527 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey. The suit states the plaintiff suffered property damage when an employee of the defendant ran an electric cart pusher into the plaintiff's vehicle.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jack Truitt of The Truitt Law Firm in Covington.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
